Cocktail Week with Cutty Sark Scotch Whisky

Cocktail Week is a celebration of the burgeoning cocktail culture in the country. We celebrate Cocktail week every year to enjoy the tasty alcoholic drinks we have come to know and love. Cocktails remind us of vacations on sandy beaches, relaxing pool-side lounges, or just Friday night out with friends or family. Coming out of a lockdown and Covid restrictions, we are not mired with worries and hence it’s a perfect excuse to get together for a fun sundowner with our friends and family, albeit with relevant precautions. Cutty Sark Orange Cinnamon whisky Smash
Ingredients
60 ml Cutty Sark Scotch whisky
1 Cinnamon Stick
Half an orange
30 ml Orange juice
1-2 Orange Slices
Soda
Instructions

Add small cinnamon sticks, add orange zest and juice in a shaker and muddle it up. Add Cutty Sark whisky to the juice and shake well

Add ice to a glass and double strain the cocktail into the glass. Top it up with a little soda and add some orange slices.

Watermelon Mint Cutty Mix
Ingredients:
60 ml Cutty Sark Scotch Whisky
3-4 Fresh watermelon chunks
30 ml watermelon juice
8-10 Fresh mint
Simple syrup (1:1 sugar to water ratio)
Salt
3 wedges of lime
Soda
Instructions

Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass, and dip the rim in coarse salt. Fill the glass with ice and set aside.

Muddle mint and lime wedges into the cocktail shaker

Add 30 ml watermelon juice to add a dash of color

Add all ingredients with whisky and shake. until the shaker is chilled, for about 10 seconds.

Double strain your cocktail into the prepared glass. Garnish with a small watermelon slice.

Blueberry Cutty Spritzers
Ingredients

60 ml Cutty Sark Scotch whisky

30 ml lemon juice
-
60ml blueberry syrup
-
60 ml tonic water
FOR THE BLUEBERRY SYRUP:

½ cup sugar
-
½ cup water
-
1 cup blueberries (frozen is fine if fresh are not in season)

Instructions to make the syrup

Combine sugar, water, and blueberries in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally, and cook until sugar has dissolved and blueberries have softened.

Remove saucepan from heat and let cool for 10-15 minutes.

Strain syrup into a separate bowl to remove the blueberries and set syrup aside.

Recipe to make the cocktail

Add a few ice cubes to the cocktail glass.

In a large shaker, combine Cutty Sark whisky, lemon juice, and blueberry syrup. Add a handful of ice and shake to chill.

Top each cocktail with a splash of tonic water and serve.
